Mankato ReStore Donation Acceptance Policy
Items accepted for donation should be new or gently used and in sale-able condition. If you are considering donating an item, begin by asking: Is the item in good working order? Are all of the pieces included? Would you want to put it in your own home, cabin, or shed?
All appliances must be in 100% working order, clean and less than 10 years old.
Bathroom & Kitchen Items
Full kitchen cabinet sets are preferred. Cabinets must be complete; no individual cabinet components (e.g. cabinet doors).

We do not accept commercial doors, mirrored closet doors, or used shower doors.
All furniture must be free of stains, rips, pet fur/hair, odors or significant blemishes. Furniture must be structurally sound -- not in need of repair.
Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Denailed quality lumber and siding must be in 6-foot lengths or more; sheet goods, 1/2 sheet or more. No lumber with fasteners or rot or used vinyl siding. No painted lumber.
Full 5-gallon buckets, gallons and quarts of latex only
Items that the Mankato ReStore
does not accept include:
- Chemical solvents
- Commercial desks
- Entertainment centers
- Household items (e.g. dishes)
- Mercury thermostats
- Mirrors with no frame
- Old wood entertainment centers
- Oil-based paints
- Storm windows
- Televisions / electronics
- Used blinds or mini-blinds
- Used shower doors
We can accept hollow-core and bi-fold doors if current inventory is low.
